If you use the Vectorworks feature "Log Time in Program" and you are on a Mac, the log file is kept within your user Library folder. By default the Library folder is hidden because most users shouldn't be tinkering with anything in the Library folder.


However, if you need to reveal your hidden Library folder, two of the possible ways you can do so are:


Method A)

  1. Go to your "Home" folder which is located at: Mac HD > Users > (your username)
  2. The click on the View menu > Show View Options and check the box next to “Show Library Folder”.


Method B)

  1. Make sure you have the Finder active (by clicking on Finder in the Dock or your desktop picture).
  2. Hold down the Option key on your keyboard.
  3. Click on the Go menu > Library (note that the Library option will not appear if you re not holding down the Option key on your keyboard.)


Once you have access to your user Library folder the Vectorworks Log file can be found in:

Application Support > Vectorworks > 2017


The Vectorworks Log file is a simple text file that can be opened with most text editors or work processing applications.
