If you have installed a G Series / Site Protection license of Vectorworks and have successfully connected it to your license server while in one User account, but Vectorworks is not connecting to the license server under another account on the same computer, please try the solution below to resolve the issue.

This is related to the login dialog. The logindialog.xml file saves the IP/connection information on the clients machines.

1) After launching on one of the client machines and successfully connecting to the server, a “LoginDialog.xml” file will be created in the following location:

Macs:  /Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Application Support/Vectorworks/2017/Settings/SeriesG/

Windows: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Nemetschek\Vectorworks\2017\Settings\Series G

2) Copy this file and move it to the following location (you may need to create this SeriesG Folder):

Macs:  /Applications/Vectorworks 2017/Settings/SeriesG/LoginDialog.xml

Windows: C:\Program Files\Vectorworks2017\Settings\SeriesG\LoginDialog.xml

The login dialog settings should now be read by all User accounts on that computer.

You can configure the .XML file first to pre-populate the values and even hide the login dialog on launch. To disable the login dialog from showing during startup, set the DontShowAtStartup value to 1.
