How to check if Vectorworks needs to be updated on a Mac:

  1. Go to the Vectorworks menu > Check for Updates.
  2. If you receive a message that an update is available, please download it.
  3. Quit Vectorworks and wait for the download to complete.
  4. Locate the downloaded updater (which will be in your Downloads folder by default)
  5. Run the updater by double-clicking on it.
  6. After the updater has completed, please make sure you delete the updater in order to make room on your computer.



How to check if Vectorworks needs to be updated on a Windows computer:


  1. Go to the Help > Check for Updates.
  2. If you receive a message that an update is available, please download it.
  3. Quit Vectorworks and wait for the download to complete.
  4. Locate the zip file that was downloaded.
  5. DO NOT DOUBLE CLICK THE ZIP FILE THAT WAS DOWNLOADED. Instead, right-click on the Zip file and choose "Extract".
  6. Double-click on the resulting file and proceed with the update instructions.
  7. After the updater has completed, please make sure you delete the updater in order to make room on your computer.
